As the Holy Spirit empowered the first disciples of Jesus to share the news of His resurrection, we too seek the power of the Spirit as we live out our mission. NEED A RIDE TO CHURCH?
We’ll help you… "Catch a Lift."
The “Catch a Lift” Program is our Transportation Ministry. For many people, especially seniors, people without transport or persons with disabilities, getting to church is a challenge. Although church can be a true lift to a Christian’s spirit, lack of transportation means that this needed lift may be missed.
Participants simply stop by the Taxi Company at the Bronxville Train Station or call and arrange a lift to church. Tell the dispatcher or taxi driver that this is a Village Lutheran Church “Catch a Lift” ride and there is no cost. The cost of “Catch a Lift” is covered by the grant directed by a generous church family. Call (914) 337-8311 and tell the dispatcher that you would like a

Volunteers are needed every month. Prepare food at home, using the aluminum trays provided, and drop off at church on the day of delivery.

Members receive a monthly newsletter, are eligible to be members of the Voter’s Assembly, receive updates on breaking news, personalized offering envelopes, and, as supporting members of the church, receive member access to weddings, baptisms, funerals, and a tuition discount at The Chapel School. The VLC also has an on-site columbarium for cremains that members may reserve at a reasonable cost. Plus, membership connects you in a stronger way to Christ and our community and gives you greater opportunities to join our mission “to know, live and share the love of Christ.” You may join through transfer from another congregation, baptism, or being received into membership by request.
